Stretch Ceilings
A stretch ceiling is a precision-made PVC membrane, tensioned into a slim perimeter track to form a perfectly flat ceiling. One membrane can run from a single square metre to around a hundred without a join. It goes in below your existing ceiling, covers imperfections in one visit, and never needs painting.

What it is
- A flexible PVC membrane manufactured to your room's exact measurements. Its edge carries a sonic-welded harpoon profile that locks into a discreet perimeter track and pulls the surface drum-tight.
- Seamless spans up to around 100 square metres from a single membrane; larger areas use slim structural dividers or reinforced double-rail track.
- Installed below the existing ceiling with minimal height loss — exactly how much depends on the room, the finish and what needs to sit above the membrane, and we confirm it at measure.
- Light fittings, sprinklers, vents and speakers are accommodated cleanly through the membrane.
Where it excels
- Renovations where the existing ceiling is cracked, water-stained or uneven — the membrane covers it without demolition.
- New builds that want a dead-flat, paint-free ceiling with clean shadow lines.
- Rooms where access above the ceiling matters: the membrane can be de-tensioned and refitted without damage.
Finishes & options
- Matte — reads like a freshly skimmed and painted ceiling.
- Gloss — a lacquer-like reflective finish (see Gloss & Mirror Ceilings).

Common questions
A single membrane can span from one square metre up to around a hundred. Beyond that, the ceiling is divided with slim structural profiles or a reinforced double-rail system — placed deliberately, they read as architecture rather than joins.
It genuinely varies with the job — the finish, the lighting or services housed above the membrane, and the room itself all shift the offset. Some installs lose almost nothing; some need more room to work with. You get the exact figure at measure, before anything is ordered.
The membrane can be locally de-tensioned by an installer, the work done, and the same membrane refitted. It is not a one-way street like plasterboard.
